appears in the story Insha-allah in The Academy, narrated by Ken Mandarin. The story was written by Karen Taylor.

Khadija is a first-time Owner. She is an Egyptian woman, in her early 30’s, educated in the States, who takes over her father’s business and inherits Fatma, and an unnamed man who acts as her bahweb. She also inherits a pleasure slave who she sells through the help of an old friend, Ken Mandarin. Khadija's father was also a Marketplace Owner, although they are not technically a Marketplace family.(her uncle, Ahmed is not part of the Marketplace, nor does he seem to be aware of it.) In order to meet a family obligation, she buys Farouk al-Wadi to act as her husband, using Ken Mandarin as her Agent.
